Overview

In order to receive your $100 volunteer deposit back, you must volunteer for a minimum of 4 hours.  There are many different opportunities to volunteer.  A list of general areas where volunteers are needed and approximate start dates (where applicable) is given below. Keep an eye out in the SRS bulletin and periodically check the website for volunteer opportunites in these and other areas.

 Examples of Specifc Volunteer Positions and Descriptions of Duties

Field setup/takedown Set up goals, nets and corner flags.
Take down nets, corner flags and move goals back to fence and lockup.
Field marshal Make sure all teams have checked in,safety check completed and balls are on each field. Also collect game cards from each referee after each game.
Parking attendant Ensure all referees have a place to mark, to ensure they are not late to their game.
Tryouts Check in each player and assign them a jersey number, collect jerseys after session.
REC Coach Run practice and games with help from the assistant coaches (1 per team).
REC Assistant Coach Assist coach with practice and games (2 per team).
Team Manager Work with coach, send out notices to players and parents re: practice, pictures and anything else, coordinate end of season party (1 per team)


Volunteer Refund Process

All requests for a refund must be submitted on a completed Volunteer Form filled out with the first and last name of the player.  The volunteer form must be signed by a member of the Executive Committee. Volunteer refunds will be processed 3 times per year. The turnaround time for your refund will be as per the following schedule:

  • for volunteer time done Jan 1st  – Apr 30th,  must submit form by May 5th and refund will be sent by May 31st
  • for volunteer time done May 1st – Aug 31th , must submit form by Sep 5th and refund will be sent by Sep 30th
  • for volunteer time done Sep 1st – Dec 31st ,  must submit form by Jan 5th and refund will be sent by Jan 31st

For any questions about your refund including inquiring about your refund status, please contact the SRS Office Manager and provide your first and last name, your child’s first and last name, the team name and the volunteer opportunity completed.


REC Coach/Assistant Coach Reimbursement

Head coaches must submit a list for their team with the names of the head coach, up to 2 assistant coaches, 1 team manager/parent. This list must be sent to the Age Group Coordinator to verify and then forwarded to the SRS Office Manager to be paid out in a January disbursement.
