TRAINING:
AZURI Academy training for U9, U10, U11 COMP level players , boys and girls.
The Azuri Academy is for our U9, U10 and U11 players. It comprise 15x 90 minute sessions that run between July 5th and October 4th 2010.
The Girls Academy will run 4:30-6:00pm Mondays at Central Park 3 and 4 (Behind Iron Horse Middle School)
The Boys will run 6:00-7:30pm also on Mondays at the same location.
In addition, there will be Goal Keeper training for boys from 5:30 - 6:00 and for girls 6:- 6:30pm.
Therefore, players interested in goal keeping can plan to stay for 2 hours on those days.
The Objective is to improve balance and coordination in simple agility exercises, build a comprehensive portfolio of technically sound soccer skills and apply then is structured small sided games.
The format will be:
1. 10 minute group warm up with dynamic stretching.
2. 6 x 10 minute exercises, comprising agility and 5 games that will support the theme of the day
3. 20 minute small side game in support of the daily theme.
Themes will be Receiving, Dribbling, Passing, Finishing the Defending. The themes will repeat with the addition of more complex techniques. For example short passing moving to long passing, receiving balls on the ground to receiving balls in the air.
The players will be divided into small groups 8-10 players in each group and will rotate through the 6 exercises. We will split the kids by age/ability and the coach responsible for each of the 6 exercises (agility plus 5 themed) will progress that exercise to match the ability of each small group.
The activities will be set up in a 'wheel' around a central rest area where the players will take short fluid breaks. The players will be kept off the grass banks, away from the trees and creek to improve their concentration and promote a highly focused environment with an intensity level higher than that of normal practice and game day.
Each player will receive a laminated card that maps out their progress through each of the 15 weeks. They will be given little soccer ball stickers after each session to place along side the completed activities.
Players missing sessions or that are tardy will obviously not collect stickers for the missed activities.
We will obviously make this fun for the players but the Academy will be conducted in highly professional environment by our qualified and experienced professional staff.
Dangerous or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and we will deal swiftly and compressively with any players that disrupt the sessions, endanger other players or cause damage to personal or parks property.
For U12 and U19, there will be TEAM TRAINING for 11 weeks, where the SRS Academy Staff will train the entire team on themes in cooperation with the team coach..
Special Training
Special mini-camps will be offered to entire age groups by the DoC and Coordinators during the summer months to focus on developing the SRS Style pf play.

Tournaments for U9, U10, U11, U12, U13 age groups
For each Age group, the SRS Coaching staff will be meet some time after the team formation process to firm up a list of suggested tournaments that the teams will go to based on the teams’ abilities. We will try to get many teams to go to the same tournament if possible to create the CLUB atmosphere and so SRS has a strong presence and players can support other SRS teams.
We will also recommend/limit the number to 3 during the season plus State Cup (or Association Cup). Exceptions may be made on approval of the Tournament Committee consists of the DOC and the Coordinators.
For the older age groups (U14 and up), depending on the needs of the teams to attend College Showcases and their ability to get accepted, the Head Coaches of the age group together with the Tournament Committee will decide on the number and which tournaments to attend.
